Ian Watson

Ian Watson is Music Director and Organist at the First Parish in Lincoln, MA. Trained at the Royal Academy of Music in London, he is a top church musician and educator, with wide-ranging experience embracing novice, advanced and professional levels. His most recent church post was the Music Director at Cathedral of St. Paul in Worcester, MA. He is also an internationally-known, dynamic, multi-faceted music professional who maintains an active performing and recording career in collaboration with major artists and ensembles as an organist, pianist, harpsichordist and conductor in both standard and historically-informed practices.

Ian is currently principal keyboard player with the Handel and Haydn Society Orchestra and Artistic Director of Arcadia Players Baroque Orchestra. During his first year at First Parish, he initiated a concert series which has been quite successful and has increased the church’s isibility in the community.

Nicole Marane

A native of Australia, Dr. Nicole Marane is the Associate Director of Music at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia.  She is also the Director for CONO, the Committee on the New Organist, which oversees the American Guild of Organists “Pipe Organ Encounters”, the AGO’s most successful outreach program.  In 2010 Nicole graduated with her Doctorate of Musical Arts from the Eastman School of Music, where she was a student of Professor David Higgs. She served as David Higgs’ Teaching Assistant and was a recipient of a Graduate Teaching Assistant Prize for excellence in teaching. Nicole completed her Master of Music Degree at Eastman in 2003 and held graduate assistantships in both the Harpsichord and Sacred Music programs. Nicole earned her undergraduate degree with First Class Honors at Australian National University in 1999.   In 2004, Nicole earned first prize in two major competitions: the Miami International Organ Competition and the John Rodland Memorial Scholarship Competition for church musicians. In 2008 Nicole competed as a semi-finalist in the National Young Artists Competition of Organ Performance. An accomplished performer, Nicole has performed and presented solo organ recitals throughout the world including at prestigious venues such as St. Paul’s Cathedral (London), St. Giles’ Cathedral (Edinburgh), Grace Cathedral (San Francisco), St. James Cathedral (Toronto), St Thomas Church Fifth Avenue (New York City), Sydney Town Hall and Melbourne Town Hall (Australia).

Exit the main entrance of the Hilton facing Belvidere St., turn left and continue across Dalton St. into the Sheraton. Turn left in the lobby and take the North Tower elevators (or escalator) to the 2^nd floor. Orient yourself facing the express elevator doors.  Turn right, continue down the corridor, exit the hotel and enter the mall.  Bear right at St. Francis Chapel and follow overhead signs to Prudential Arcade, then Back Bay Arcade (Sidney Thomas Jewelers will be on your left). At Bridge Court, the handicapped ramp is slightly hidden to your right. Take the pedestrian bridge over the street and turn right into the Marriott just past Starbucks.  Elevators are straight ahead and to your right.  Main lobby is one floor down.

As you exit the Marriott Hotel, turn RIGHT and walk to Dartmouth St.  Turn RIGHT on Dartmouth St. and walk past the Back Bay T Station to Columbus Av.  Turn LEFT on Columbus Av. And walk two blocks to the intersection with Berkeley St.  Isabella St. will be a slight RIGHT at this intersection.    Our Lady of Victories Church is at 27 Isabella St.

Directions from Cathedral of the Holy Cross to Marriott Hotel

Travel time 20minutes

As you exit Cathedral of the Holy Cross, turn RIGHT on Washington St.  Turn LEFT on West Dedham St.  You will cross over Tremont St.  West Dedham St. becomes Dartmouth St.  Continue past the Back Bay T Station to Stuart St.  Turn LEFT on Stuart St.  The Marriott Hotel will be ahead on your right.

Jonathan Rudy

  Jonathan D. Rudy is proud to serve God through music. He has performed in Sacramento, Charlotte, and the Chicago area. He recently was a finalist in the National Organ Playing Competition in Fort Wayne, and was a second-prize winner in the 2011 AGO/Quimby Competition for Young Organists. He is pursuing a doctoral degree at Indiana University, studying with Janette Fishell and Bruce Neswick. He holds degrees from Indiana University and Valparaiso University, studying with Lorraine Brugh and Karel Paukert. He teaches music theory at Indiana University and is the organist at Central Presbyterian Church in Terre Haute, Indiana.

HyeHyun Sung

 HyeHyun Sung is a Doctor of Musical Arts candidate at the University of Houston. A recipient of the Presidential Fellowship, she holds degrees from Westminster Choir College and Yale University. Prior to enrolling at Yale, she received Konzertexamen and Solistenklasse diplomas with distinction from the Hochschule für Musik in Saar, Germany. She has been a finalist in the Jordan International Organ Competition and the Gieseking International Organ Competition, and has performed in Germany. In Houston, she serves on the faculty at Lone Star College and is the organist-choirmaster at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church.

Kirk Rich

 Kirk M. Rich began organ studies with Douglas Reed in Evansville, Indiana. He is a master’s candidate at Indiana University, where he studies with Christopher Young. He earned a Bachelor of Music from the Oberlin College Conservatory of Music, where he studied with James David Christie. Winner of the 2007 Region V AGO/Quimby Competition for Young Organists, Mr. Rich has performed in the United States, France, and the United Kingdom. He has studied harpsichord with Webb Wiggins and Elisabeth Wright, and piano with Barbara Lister-Sink.

Directions from St. Andrew’s to Wellesley Congregational Church (Village Church)

As you exit St. Andrew’s Church (the liturgical west end at your back), turn right on Washington St.  Continue .02 miles.  Wellesley Congregational Church is the red brick, white-spired, Neo-Colonial church on your left.  The entrance to the parish hall for lunch is at the rear.
